Farmers Can Share the Joys of 2021 Planting Season With Photography
OMAHA (DTN) -- There are few events on the farm as pleasing as lowering that tillage tool or row of planter units into the first field of spring and easing out the clutch to start that initial round. And, for several years, we've been pleased to share the images from spring planting with our MyPlanting photo contests.
We're throttling up on the MyPlanting21 contest, which will be open through 11:59 p.m. Central Daylight Time June 1.
A full set of rules and guidelines can be found here: https://spotlights.dtnpf.com/…
Each year, we're amazed at the creativity and talent that is out there, images that show the early morning starts and burning of the late-night oil that it takes to get each spring's crop in the ground. There are also the images of the young and the old, the field-side meals, the first-emerging plants and more than a few frustrating moments and pit-stop repairs, that are all part and parcel of a planting season. We've also been impressed at the variety of photo equipment used, from high-flying drones to the quiet moments captured with a simple mobile phone. Together, they create a vivid documentation of the planting season we're all about to go through.
All images are welcome and appreciated. And they can earn neat prizes. Again this year, we will have two basic categories: Most Liked/Most Popular and Editor's Choice. First prize in each category receives a $150 gift card and a professional canvas print of your image; second place earns a $75 gift card and a canvas print. Winners will also be featured in the August 2021 issue of Progressive Farmer magazine and shared on our DTN online platforms.
We're looking forward to seeing your images, and your progress, for MyPlanting21. Happy shooting!
