Spot ethanol prices fell in Chicago and the New York Harbor ahead of data due Wednesday from the Energy Information Administration that's expected to show higher supply for the week-ended Feb. 2, said a trade source.

Prompt delivered ethanol at the Argo terminal in the Chicago market traded at least eight times during the aftermarket window at $1.4175 per gallon for a 1.25-cent loss. Prompt delivered ethanol by barge in New York Harbor was discussed at $1.51 to $1.55 per gallon bid/ask spread for a 1.5-cent loss on the day.
