Spot Ethanol Prices Climb as Plant Output Drops to 3-Month Low
Spot ethanol prices advanced Wednesday after the Energy Information Administration reported ethanol plant production in the United States fell 36,000 bpd to a 996,000 bpd three-month low last week. Prompt delivered ethanol at the Argo terminal in the Chicago market moved from $1.25 gallon early session to $1.27 gallon, with January anys seen at $1.29 gallon. Ethanol moved by rail under rule 11 terms was valued at $1.31 gallon for a 2.0cts gain on the session. Prompt delivered ethanol by barges in the New York Harbor was pegged at $1.425 gallon, up 2.0cts.
