During the first 15 weeks of the Canadian crop year, or through the week ending Nov. 13, producers have delivered 19.483 million metric tons (mmt) of all principal field crops into licensed facilities, up 12.4% from the same period in 2021-22, 2.2% higher than the three-year average and 5.8% higher than the five-year average.

Wheat deliveries (excluding durum) are reported at 7 mmt, up 38.8% from last year and 20.8% higher than the three-year average. Deliveries of canola at 5.584 mmt are down 3.9% from last year and 9.9% lower than the three-year average, despite production that is estimated 38.8% higher year-over-year.

The black line with markers represents the grain that has been unloaded in licensed facilities as a percentage of available farm supplies, defined as Statistics Canada's July 31 farm stocks estimate plus estimated 2022 production.

Of the crops shown, the highest percentage is seen for peas at 30.8% of available supplies delivered, although this is down from the three-year average of 36.3% (not shown). An estimated 23.7% of the wheat has been delivered, which is ahead of the three-year average of 21.4%. This calculation indicates that 28.9% of canola has been delivered, which is the lowest percentage calculated in three years and behind the three-year average of 32.2%.
