Spot Ethanol Prices Mixed with Upside Bias

Spot ethanol prices moved mixed with an upside bias in early afternoon trade Wednesday, with prompt ethanol deliveries to the Argo terminal near Chicago trading a tad lower while ethanol supply for prompt delivery in the New York area and in other regional hubs saw modest gains.

A trader attributed the gains to higher corn futures. Prompt ethanol supply at the Argo traded twice at $1.48 per gallon, down 0.25 cents. Chicago ethanol traded under Rule 11 for this week shipment traded at $1.47 and $1.475 per gallon for a 1.5-cents gain on the session. September barges at the New York Harbor were talked at a $1.545 to $1.5575 per gallon bid/ask, up 0.13 cents.
