Spot ethanol prices were talked lower in Chicago and New York despite higher Chicago Board of Trade corn futures after USDA issued its September report at midday lowering corn supply estimates from levels seen a month ago.
Prompt transfer ethanol at the Argo supply hub near Chicago was valued at $1.47 per gallon, down 0.25 cents for the day. A New York Harbor prompt supply ethanol barge was pegged at $1.56 per gallon, down 1.0 cents.
