Most Cash Ethanol Prices Up on Calls Output Fell Last Week
Spot ethanol prices mostly edged higher in thin early trade Tuesday. The prices were lifted by higher Chicago Board of Trade corn futures and expectations weekly federal data due out tomorrow will show a decline in domestic ethanol production. This would probably another draw down in total inventories, trade sources said.
"We saw some mills closed during holidays and a lack of growers selling (corn to ethanol plants), so it should start looking better," said one trader.
