DTN's Quick Takes
Periodic Updates on the Grains, Livestock Futures Markets
OMAHA (DTN) -- December corn is down 1/2 cents and November soybeans are down 3/4 cents. September KC wheat is up 3 cents, September Chicago wheat is up 1 1/4 cents, and September MIAX Minneapolis wheat is up 1 cents. September crude oil is up $0.49 and Dow Jones futures are down 132 points. The U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.08 and December gold is down $2.10. To begin the new week, row-crop futures are mixed with fractionally lower corn and soybeans but higher wheat futures. Prices have found support in recent sessions on both technical factors as well as positive influence from outside energy markets with a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz still proving to be elusive after optimism early last week. Wheat futures have been very choppy in recent sessions but should remain supported with few signs of de-escalation to attacks on ports and shipping lanes in the Black Sea. Domestically, this week's trade will center around the Wednesday release of the August WASDE report, which will include highly anticipated survey-based yield forecasts for the upcoming U.S. corn and soybean crops.
