Pierre Livestock Auction-Fort Pierre,SD Livestock Weighted Average Report for 02/13/2026 - Final Auction This Week Last Reported Last Year ------------------------------------------------------------ Total Receipts: ------------------------------------------------------------ FEEDER CATTLE 7892 4313 6753 Compared to two week: Steers from 600 lbs to 749 lbs were mostly 10.00 to 15.00 higher, instances 20.00 higher, steers from 750 lbs to 799 lbs were 8.00 to 10.00 lower, steers from 800 lbs to 899 lbs were 8.00 to 12.00 higher; Heifers not well tested but higher undertones would bae noted. Very good demand for all classes of cattle today. A large run of cattle with a house full of producers and buyer competing with internet buyers. Several consignments offered multiple loads of cattle in the same sort. Plenty of part loads and packages available to make loads. Cattle were home raised, fully vaccinated, long time weaned and attractive for quality. Flesh conditions ranged from light flesh hay feed cattle to moderate flesh cattle coming out of a grow yard. Load after load of fancy replacement quality heifers were met with very good demand. A very active market for all classes of cattle as cattle feeders try to fill pen space and maintain some inventory. CORN Strategies Snapshot

TREND: The trend for March corn is sideways for now.

NONCOMMERCIAL OUTLOOK: Noncommercial corn traders held a net-short futures position of 18,330 contracts as of Feb. 10 and were net-buyers of 16,368 contracts during the CFTC reporting period as prices have rallied off lows set following the bearish January WASDE report.

COMMERCIAL OUTLOOK: Commercial corn traders held a net-long position of 37,338 contracts as of Feb. 10 and were net-sellers of 15,578 contracts through the CFTC reporting period. The March 2026 contract is priced 10 1/4 cents lower than the May 2026 contract, moving wider (more carry) through the week, to the highest degree of carry for the boards since early September. National average corn basis fell 1 cent...

It was a mixed day for the livestock complex as the futures market closed mostly lower, but the cash cattle complex saw some positive momentum ahead of the week's end. Northern dressed cattle traded at mostly $382, which is $4.00 higher than last week's weighted average and Southern live cattle traded at $248, which is also $4.00 higher than last week's weighted average.
