Washington (DTN) -- President Trump today sent the nomination of Greg Ibach to be agriculture undersecretary for trade and foreign agricultural affairs to the Senate.

Ibach, a former Nebraska agriculture director, would succeed Luke Lindberg, who has been named executive director of the United Nations World Food Program.

Ibach served in the first Trump administration as agriculture undersecretary for marketing and regulatory programs.

Trump also sent the Senate the nominations of three people to be members of the Farm Credit Administration board: Carl Bednarski of Michigan for a term expiring May 21, 2034; John Grunewald II of Oklahoma for a term expiring May 21, 2032; and James Russell Middleton of Virginia for a term expiring October 13, 2030.

The only current member of the FCA board is Jeffery Hall, who was appointed to the FCA board on March 17, 2015, and was named board chairman and CEO by Trump on Jan. 20, 2025.

The FCA board is supposed to be composed of three members.

Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman John Boozman, R-Ark., plans to hold a confirmation hearing on Ibach and the Farm Credit Administration nominees when the Senate reconvenes in November, a committee spokesperson told DTN.
