DTN Weekly Average DDG Price Lower
MINNEAPOLIS (DTN) -- The DTN spot price for domestic distillers dried grains (DDG) from 33 locations reporting for the week ended July 17 was $144 per ton on average, $1 lower versus one week ago.
DDG prices were mixed for the week, but lower on average. The cash corn and soybean meal prices recovered a little this week, but merchandisers noted that spot demand has been slow. DTN's National Average Corn Index is up 4 cents versus one week ago.

Based on the average of prices collected by DTN, the value of DDG relative to corn for the week ended July 17 was 1.003%. The value of DDG relative to soybean meal was 53.59% and the cost per unit of protein for DDG was $5.33 compared to the cost per unit of protein for soybean meal at $5.66.
U.S. Grains Council, in its weekly distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) August export market prices report, showed as of July 17, CIF NOLA barge price was up $10 at $216 metric ton (mt); FOB vessel Gulf price was up $5 at $226 mt; rail delivered PNW was up $8 at $241; and rail delivered to California was up $6 at $231 mt.
The Energy Information Administration reported Wednesday for the week ended July 11 ethanol production was 0.2% higher at 1.09 million barrels per day (bpd), equivalent to 45.65 million gallons daily. Production was 1.7% lower than the same week last year but 1.6% above the 3-year average for the week. Midwest ethanol production averaged 1.028 million bpd, down 2,000 bpd versus last week and 7,000 bpd, or 0.7%, lower than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 1.024 million bpd was 1,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year.
