McConnell Disavows Trump Attacks

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Senate's top Republican says he "couldn't disagree more" with Donald Trump's personal attacks on the federal judge presiding over the lawsuit against Trump University.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is disavowing Trump's claim that Judge Gonzalo Curiel can't be impartial in the case.

The presumptive GOP presidential nominee says Curiel's Mexican heritage has spawned the judge's "tremendous hostility" to Trump's plan to build a wall along the Mexican border. Curiel was born in Indiana to parents who came from Mexico.

Also Sunday, Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker said he does not condone Trump's remarks about Curiel. House Speaker Paul Ryan last week took the same position. All three have endorsed Trump.

McConnell made his comments on NBC's "Meet the Press," while Corker spoke on ABC's "This Week."
