Willie Nelson to Headline Farm Aid
Farm Aid 2023 Festival Planned for September in Indiana
OMAHA (DTN) -- Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Neil Young, Dave Matthews and Margo Price will lead an all-day music and food event on the last day of summer focused on farmers as climate champions.
Tickets for Farm Aid 2023, planned for Sept. 23 at Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana, will go on sale Saturday, July 15 at LiveNation.com.
Farm Aid's mission is to build a vibrant, family farm-centered system of agriculture in America. The organization hosts an annual festival to raise funds to support family farmers and to inspire people to choose family farm food. The festival will highlight the work of family farmers to address climate change through regenerative, organic, and sustainable farming practices. As farmers and farm and food advocates converge from across the country for the annual festival, Farm Aid will also host additional pre-festival events to spotlight their work.

"Family farmers have the solutions to some of our toughest challenges," said Farm Aid President and founder Willie Nelson in a press release. "As we face a changing climate, farmers in Indiana, across the Midwest and all over the country are farming in ways that create more resilient farms to build healthy soils and protect our water."
Farm Aid, with the support of the artists who contribute their performances each year, has raised more than $70 million to support programs that help farmers thrive, expand the reach of the Good Food Movement, take action to change the dominant system of industrial agriculture and promote food from family farms. This is the second Farm Aid festival to be hosted in Noblesville and the third in Indiana. Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp organized the first Farm Aid concert in 1985 to raise awareness about the loss of family farms and to raise funds to keep farm families on the land. Dave Matthews joined the Farm Aid Board of Directors in 2001, and Margo Price joined in 2021.
"We are honored and excited to bring the Farm Aid experience back to Indiana. My home state holds deep meaning for me and for the generations of family farmers who have dedicated their lives to caring for the Earth and bringing us good food," Mellencamp stated in the press release.
In addition to the headliners, Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros featuring The Wolfpack, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Lukas Nelson, Allison Russell, The String Cheese Incident, and Particle Kid will perform amid a full day of music, family farmers, homegrown food and agrarian experiences.
Ticket prices range from $75 to $315. A limited number of pre-sale tickets will be available beginning at 10 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, July 12, at www.farmaid.org/tickets.
