ILLINOIS, Edgar County. A six-tract hybrid auction of 554 acres resulted in a sale to multiple local farmers. Total price was $7,917,994, or an average of $14,292 per acre. INDIANA, Gibson County. Nine tracts totaling 395 acres sold at auction for $6,016,955, or $15,233 per acre. Tracts ranged in size from 7.5 acres to 118 acres and in price per acre from $10,500 for a 117-acre tract with 19 wooded acres to $24,000 per acre for a partially wooded tract containing 17 1/2 acres. Primary soil types were Stendal and Hosmer silt loams. There were more than 300 total acres of tillable land, with the balance in wooded land. IOWA, Mitchell County. A 113-acre field sold in an online auction for $2.49 million, or $22,035 per acre. The farm's 94.7 CSR2 rating reflects the Dinsdale, Klinger and Franklin loam soils, and its location near an ethanol plant and good roads was an added attraction. The auction results show two bidders drove the price from $16,000 per acre to $22,000 per acre in the last half-hour of bidding.
