USDA Cattle on Feed Report Preview
Mexico Cattle Imports Likely to Overshadow August Cattle on Feed Report
OMAHA (DTN) -- USDA's Aug. 1 Cattle on Feed report isn't expected to shake the market by any degree, as it will likely be quickly overshadowed by the U.S. border reopening to Mexican cattle imports starting on the following Monday, Aug. 24.
And when you take into consideration the pre-report data, the report is expected to yield a similar scenario the market has seen time and time again in months past where the total number of cattle on feed is higher, while both placements and the number of cattle marketed are lower.

I don't expect there to be any wild cards in Friday's report, and it's very likely that the report will be quickly forgotten about given the other developing factors at play.
USDA will release its Aug. 1 Cattle on Feed report at 2 p.m. CDT on Friday.
