DDG Weekly Update
DTN Weekly DDG Price Lower on Average
MINNEAPOLIS (DTN) -- The DTN spot price for domestic distillers dried grains (DDG) from 33 locations reporting for the week ended Aug. 14 was $141 per ton on average, down $2 versus one week ago.
DDG prices were mixed for the week, but lower on average. DDG has to compete with a good amount of feed products in the pipeline, which will keep prices flat. The cash corn price faltered again this week, with DTN's National Average Corn Index down 11 cents versus one week ago.
U.S. Grains Council, in its weekly distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) September export market prices report, showed as of Aug. 14, CIF NOLA barge price was at $207 metric ton (mt); FOB vessel Gulf price was at $226 mt; rail delivered PNW was at $236; and rail delivered to California was at $224 mt. (No comparison given there was no price report Aug. 7.)

The Energy Information Administration reported on Wednesday for the week ended Aug. 8, overall ethanol production in the United States averaged 1.093 million barrels per day (bpd), up 12,000 bpd versus last week and 21,000 bpd, or 2%, higher than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 1.087 million bpd was 1,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year. Midwest ethanol production averaged 1.034 million bpd, up 13,000 bpd versus last week and 20,000 bpd, or 1.9%, higher than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 1.03 million bpd was 5,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year.
