OMAHA (DTN) -- Dryness in southern Brazil and no more than light rain in the Argentina forecast are the primary features for the commodity market's attention Thursday.

VERY LITTLE MIDWEST MOISTURE

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for very little precipitation across the Midwest through the next seven days. Temperatures offer a chilly trend but generally above normal for the season.

WARM AND DRY IN SOUTHERN PLAINS

Warm and dry conditions are indicated across the Southern Plains during the next week to 10 days. The western half of the region remains in drought while there has been some easing across the north and east recently.

MILD AND DRY IN NORTHERN PLAINS

Northern Plains areas have a dry pattern with above-normal temperatures indicated over the next week. The region has turned notably drier during this winter season.

SOUTHERN BRAZIL DRYNESS

Across Brazil, rainfall has been only isolated in central crop areas. Crop health continues to be mixed. Southern areas have seen more widespread crop health issues due to more stretches of dryness. This is especially true in Rio Grande do Sul. Southern Brazil forecasts suggest no more than light rain during the next seven days.

MINIMAL ARGENTINA RAIN

In Argentina, scattered showers will be possible on Saturday, but most areas are likely to remain dry through that time frame. Concern remains high for developing to reproductive corn and soybeans. Rainfall in the seven-day period also looks to be very light.

LIGHT RUSSIA PRECIPITATION

Updated forecasts for South Russia wheat areas indicate only light precipitation during the next week. Wheat crop benefit may be limited as a result of this reduced precipitation.
