For Second Consecutive Week, All Eight Major Fertilizers Sees Prices Move Higher

OMAHA (DTN) -- All major retail fertilizer prices increased compared to last month in the third week of February 2026, according to sellers surveyed by DTN.

For the second week in a row, prices for all eight major fertilizers are slightly higher compared to last month. One was significantly higher, which DTN designates as anything 5% or more.

The one fertilizer that was significantly more expensive was once again urea. The nitrogen fertilizer was 6% higher compared to last month with an average price of $608 per ton.

The remaining seven fertilizers that were slightly more expensive were DAP with an average price of $852 per ton, MAP $880/ton, potash $487/ton, 10-34-0 $665/ton, anhydrous $862/ton, UAN28 $412/ton and UAN32 $465/ton.

On a price per pound of nitrogen basis, the average urea price was $0.66/lb.N, anhydrous $0.53/lb.N, UAN28 $0.74/lb.N and UAN32 $0.73/lb.N.

The Koch Fertilizer plant in Beatrice, Nebraska, recently acquired an ammonia converter, according to an article from www.worldfertilizer.com. The new converter, which combines nitrogen from the air and hydrogen from natural gas to produce ammonia fertilizer, will replace two smaller converters the plant had been using.

The converter is 98 feet tall, 14 feet wide and weighs 800,000 pounds. It was built in Venice, Italy, and shipped into the Port of Houston. From there, it was transported to Nebraska by rail to the nearby town of Plymouth and was trucked the last 10 miles to the fertilizer facility.

According to plant manager Jason Stowell, the converter project reflects Koch Fertilizer's commitment to long-term growth and partnership with the Beatrice community.

"It's a huge testament to the investment Koch has in this facility and the support of the employees here as well as the community," Stowell said.

All eight fertilizers are now higher in price compared to one year earlier.

10-34-0 is 4% higher, MAP is 9% more expensive, potash is 10% higher, both DAP and urea are 12% more expensive, anhydrous is 16% higher, and both UAN28 and UAN32 are 18% more expensive looking back to last year.
