DTN Retail Fertilizer Trends
All Retail Fertilizers See Only Slight Price Moves for First Time This Spring
OMAHA (DTN) -- Average retail prices for most fertilizers continued to be higher than last month during the second week of June 2025. But for the first time this spring, no fertilizer saw a significant price move in either direction, which DTN designates as anything 5% or more.
Prices for seven fertilizers were up just slightly from last month. DAP had an average price of $805 per ton, MAP $832/ton, potash $474/ton, urea $656/ton, 10-34-0 $669/ton, UAN28 $418/ton and UAN32 $495/ton.
The price of one fertilizer was slightly lower than last month. Anhydrous had an average price of $773/ton.
On a price per pound of nitrogen basis, the average urea price was $0.71/lb.N, anhydrous $0.47/lb.N, UAN28 $0.75/lb.N and UAN32 $0.77/lb.N.
An article titled "Iran-Israel Conflict Adds Uncertainly to the Fertilizer Market" from the University of Illinois Farm Policy News Summary, stated the most recent military conflict in the Middle East could send ripples through the global fertilizer market. Israel began attacking targets in Iran last week.

Josh Linville, vice president of fertilizers at StoneX, said the attacks on Iran's natural gas infrastructure, which is used in the production of urea, are keeping operations offline.
"Iran was the third-largest urea exporter in 2024 with export volumes of around 4.5 million tons -- about the size of China's," the report said.
Arlan Sunderman, Linville's colleague at StoneX, said another reason the world fertilizer market is watching this situation closely is the amount of fertilizer that passes through the Strait of Hormuz. This area will be at risk, he said.

Prices for seven fertilizers are now higher than they were a year earlier. MAP is 1% higher, DAP is 3% more expensive, 10-34-0 4% higher, anhydrous are 5% more expensive, UAN28 is 19% more expensive, UAN32 is 24% higher and urea is 25% more expensive looking back to last year.
The price for the remaining fertilizer continues to be lower. Potash is 7% lower compared to last year.
DTN gathers fertilizer price bids from agriculture retailers each week to compile the DTN Fertilizer Index. DTN first began reporting data in November 2008.
