Hurricane Rachel Forecast to Weaken

MIAMI (AP) -- Hurricane Rachel is forecast weaken over the Pacific off Mexico's coast and poses no threat to land.

The hurricane's maximum sustained winds early Monday are near 75 mph (120 kph). The U.S. National Hurricane Center says Rachel is expected to weaken to a tropical storm later in the day.

The hurricane is centered about 485 miles (780 kilometers) west of the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula and is moving north near 5 mph (7 kph).
