DECATUR, Ill. (DTN) -- Scott Wallis picked a heck of a season to invite the world into his farm fields in 2019.

Wallis, who farms near Princeton, Indiana, and across the river into Illinois, was one of two farmers chosen to participate in DTN's "View From the Cab" program last year -- a series of articles that track farm practices and life through the growing season. Ashley Andersen, a Midwest farmer, also reported from Blair, Nebraska.

"It was a tough weather year for many farms and farm families. It was important to talk through it," said Wallis. Andersen has ended up missing the weekly interaction so much she has started her own Facebook blog.

Want to tell your story? We are taking applications and looking for two farmers to lend their voices to what is happening through weekly reports.

It is the 15th year for View From the Cab and we're looking for farmers and/or farm families to participate in 2020.

Applying for the opportunity is easy. Simply email (pamela.smith@dtn.com), explaining why you want to be a contributor and a little bit about your farm.

The individuals selected are obligating to a weekly call when the planting season gets rolling. An editor may visit occasionally during the season. Depending on the comfort level of the applicants, there may be opportunities to share in-season pictures and videos from the farm.

Contributors generally comment that it helps them feel more engaged in the industry. They are often surprised to find they've accomplished so much each week.

Here's a list of our past View From the Cab contributors:
