OMAHA (DTN) -- Here are the Top 5 things the DTN Newsroom is tracking for the week of March 3. Watch for coverage of these and other topics through the week on our subscription platforms as well as on www.DTNPF.com.

Note that all report release times are Central Standard Time unless otherwise noted.

1. DTN Webinar Friday: We return with our DTN Ag Summit webinar series with a 9 a.m. session March 7. The theme, "Spring Forward: Ag Policy, Weather, Markets" will be a timely update on all that's critical as we head into planting season. Our expert panel will include DTN Ag Policy Editor Chris Clayton, DTN Ag Meteorologist John Baranick, and DTN Lead Analyst Rhett Montgomery who will provide key insights to help you navigate these challenges. To register for the free webinar, go here: https://www.dtn.com/….

2. Commodity Classic this week: We'll have full coverage from the 2025 Commodity Classic in Denver, March 2-4. If you're attending, come say hello at our booth, Number 825.

3. Strong Midwest storm system: The Midwest will see a strong system move through Tuesday and Wednesday that will bring widespread precipitation, northwestern snow that could be heavy, and strong winds. A smaller system will follow it later this week with more scattered showers and potential for snow. Temperatures are in a roller coaster type of pattern as several spring storm systems keep lining up to move through here in March. A very active weather pattern with strong storm systems and potential for heavy rain could ignite some more flooding during the next couple of weeks to the Mississippi Delta.

4. Layoffs, and tariffs and bearish news, oh my: The self-described "chainsaw" that Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency has leveled at various government departments, and the not-infrequent need to jam sawdust and Elmer's back into those cuts due to unintended consequences, continues to take up much of the news cycle. We'll continue looking at reductions to ag-related programs, pros and cons, and those unintended consequences, including markets response to the trees falling well within earshot.
