New Administration Gets Built, Harvest Wraps Up
OMAHA (DTN) -- Here are the Top 5 things the DTN Newsroom is tracking for the week of Nov. 10. Watch for coverage of these and other topics through the week on our subscription platforms as well as on www.DTNPF.com.

1. Administration under construction: Names continue to circle in regards to key appointments in President-elect Donald Trump's administration. We'll follow the process and report on key ag-related names as they surface. Check out DTN Ag Policy Editor Chris Clayton's story on some of the ag secretary prospects, as well as what Kip Tom, farmer and co-leader for the Farmers and Ranchers for Trump Coalition, told Clayton he thinks should be the biggest immediate priority for ag: https://www.dtnpf.com/….
2. Veterans Day on Monday: Bond markets and some government offices will be closed Nov. 11 to observe Veterans Day holiday. Stock and commodity markets are open, and the DTN Newsroom will be open and updating news sites normally. Most livestock reports will be as normal. Our thanks to all who have served in our armed forces. Monday is also Remembrance Day in Canada: Markets are closed for the national holiday, as Canadians honor the men and women who have served in its armed forces, and continue to serve the country during times of war, conflict and peace.
3. Ag bankers Meet: We'll report on the mood from the Agricultural Bankers Conference this week in Milwaukee.
4. Rains and snow continue: In the Midwest a system brings weekend showers while another system is poised to move through next week with more rain chances. Temperatures continue to be above normal, allowing the rain to build soil moisture and improve conditions for pastures and winter wheat. Showers and snow continue across the Central and Southern Plains, with the possibility of a second system mid-week. Areas that see snow will get a drop in temperatures while the rest of the region sees above-normal temperatures.
5. Economic reports this week: On Monday, Veterans Day Holiday, many reports are delayed. Tuesday, Grain Inspection numbers are out at 10 a.m., at 11 a.m. is Feedgrains Database update, while at 2 p.m. we'll see the Season Average Price Forecast from ERS, as well as the latest Wheat Data. At 3 p.m. the USDA NASS weekly Crop Progress report is released. Wednesday reports start at 7:30 a.m. with latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Core CPI. At 9:30 the EIA Weekly Petroleum Status including ethanol production report hits. At 1 p.m. we'll see Monthly Federal Budge report and at 2 p.m. Broiler Hatchery numbers are out. Thursday, we'll see Initial Jobless Claims at 7:30 a.m., as well as the Producer Price Index and Core CPI. At 10:30 a.m. the Weekly Economic Index is out. Friday, at 7:30 a.m. the Grain Export Sales, and U.S. Retail Sales reports hit. At 8:15 a.m. comes Industrial Production and Capacity Utilization numbers, followed by 9 a.m. release of, Business Inventories updates. At 2 p.m. is latest Turkey Hatchery figures, and at 2:30 p.m. is the CFTC's Commitment of Traders report.
