Heading into the last half hour of trade for Thursday, row crop futures had been set for another quiet close before a sudden wave of selling pressure hit the soybean market at late morning. Weakness is tied to the release of the September NOPA crush report, in which members crushed 196.3 million bushels (mb) of soybeans in September, well below expectations and likely caused by the severe delay to the U.S. soybean harvest through September. Corn and wheat turned lower as well on bearish influence from the soybean market.

December KC wheat is up 4 1/2 cents, December Chicago wheat is up 4 1/4 cents, and December MIAX Minneapolis wheat is down 1/4 cent. November crude oil is up $2.46 and Dow Jones futures are up 540 points. The U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.43 and December gold is up $67.50. At mid-morning on Thursday, soybeans are lower again for a fourth straight session despite another 22.5 million bushels of export sales announced Thursday morning, to China and unknown buyers. Corn futures have recovered from the lows on positive influence from the wheat market, which continues to show signs of bottoming with the war in the Black Sea in another phase of escalation currently.
