Periodic Updates on the Grains, Livestock Futures Markets
OMAHA (DTN) -- Posted 10:32 -- December corn is down 3 1/2 cents per bushel, November soybeans are down 18 cents, December KC wheat is up 3/4 cent, December Chicago wheat is up 1/2 cent and December MIAX wheat is up 3/4 cent. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 297.65 points. The U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.570 and November crude oil is up $2.18 per barrel. December gold is up $4.40 per ounce. Grain and soy markets have retreated with soybeans and soy products leading the way down. Wheat and corn have given up early gains to trade mixed to lower. Crude oil has resumed its rally and the stock indices are under heavy pressure.
Posted 08:30 -- December corn is up 1/4 cent per bushel, November soybeans are down 6 1/4 cents, December KC wheat is up 5 cents, December Chicago wheat is up 2 1/2 cents and December MIAX wheat is up 5 3/4 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 85.47 points. The U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.360 and November crude oil is up $0.23 per barrel. December gold is up $11.40 per ounce. Soybeans and soy products are a bit weaker while corn is slightly firmer and wheat markets are up in a bid to end a 7-day slide. Crude oil is barely higher while news is scarce early Thursday following Wednesday's bearish corn stocks report.
LivestockPosted 11:37 -- December live cattle are up $0.40 at $223.1, November feeder cattle are up $1.00 at $335.3, December lean hogs are down $0.48 at $68.95, December corn is down 3 1/2 cents per bushel and December soybean meal is down $6.10. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 23.78 points and the NASDAQ is down 18.43 points. Some light cash cattle trade has been marked at $345 to $348 in Nebraska, but no Southern live cattle sales have been posted yet. Bids of $226 are currently on the table in both Kansas and Texas.
Posted 08:39 -- December live cattle are down $0.53 at $222.175, November feeder cattle are down $0.05 at $334.25, December lean hogs are down $1.15 at $68.275, December corn is up 4 cents per bushel and December soybean meal is down $0.40. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 193.62 points and the NASDAQ is up 135.55 points. The livestock complex is again off to a mixed start as traders hope that stronger support arises throughout the day. At today's start no bids are currently being offered in the fed cash cattle market but packer interest will likely improve as the day goes on.
