Looking at the photo accompanying this article showing all the coolant options, it really can be confusing as to what you need for your vehicle. One thing is for sure: The mixing of coolants is something that you should avoid. All coolants do not have the same chemical makeup. Each coolant jug has a label on the back that shows you exactly in which vehicle the coolant is approved to be used. One jug with a yellow cap that I looked at stated it is compatible with all the coolants. The old-school equipment usually is good to go with the old green cap. Be very careful how you store your coolant. Mixing noncompatible coolants can be very costly. It is important to note that the 50/50 mix with water is usually the preferred mix, but some are already mixed 50/50 in the jug. Read the jug before you tip the jug.
