Periodic Updates on the Grains, Livestock Futures Markets
OMAHA (DTN) -- Posted 10:38 -- December corn is up 8 1/4 cents per bushel, November soybeans are up 4 1/4 cents, December KC wheat is up 30 1/4 cents, September Chicago wheat is up 22 1/2 cents and December MIAX wheat is up 18 1/4 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 105.79 points. The U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.440 and September crude oil is up $0.48 per barrel. December gold is up $25.30 per ounce. Kansas City wheat is flying high with no let-up in the Russia-Ukraine conflict which has cut off exports from the Black Sea. The other wheat markets, corn, soybeans, and soy products are all higher as well. Rumors that China may have already bought 7 mmt of U.S. soybeans is unconfirmed, but there was another sale early Friday.

Posted 09:04 -- December corn is up 6 1/2 cents per bushel, November soybeans are up 7 cents, December KC wheat is up 23 cents, September Chicago wheat is up 20 1/4 cents and December MIAX wheat is up 15 1/4 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 20.15 points. The U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.430 and September crude oil is up $0.07 per barrel. December gold is up $26.30 per ounce. Friday featured a very strong start for grain and soy markets, led by wheat on the continued attack issues at Black Sea ports by Russia and Ukraine. December corn was able to stay above key moving averages and is now moving higher.
LivestockPosted 11:42 -- October live cattle are down $3.43 at $216.625, September feeder cattle are down $5.48 at $331.725, October lean hogs are down $0.85 at $81.275, December corn is up 8 3/4 cents per bushel and December soybean meal is up $0.40. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 100.92 points and NASDAQ is down 106.25 points. Bids of $233 live in Kansas and $351 dressed in Nebraska are currently on the table -- but otherwise the cash cattle market sits idle. There's been no new trade following Thursday's business.
Posted 08:36 -- October live cattle are down $2.13 at $217.925, September feeder cattle are down $5.13 at $332.075, October lean hogs are down $0.35 at $81.775, December corn is up 5 cents per bushel and December soybean meal is up $4.00. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 49.75 points and the NASDAQ is up 46.03 points. Tyson's announcement of their plant closures in Joslin, Illinois and Eagle Mountain, Utah along with their intent to sell the plant in Pasco, Washington has both the cattle contracts trading lower at Friday's start. No developments have surfaced in the cash cattle market yet for the day, but some business will need to develop in the South.
