Periodic Updates on the Grains, Livestock Futures Markets
OMAHA (DTN) -- December corn is up 1 1/2 cents per bushel, November soybeans are up 1 3/4 cents, September KC wheat is down 16 1/4 cents, September Chicago wheat is down 12 1/4 cents and September MIAX wheat is down 14 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 446.49 points. The U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.300 and September crude oil is up $2.14 per barrel. December gold is down $4.20 per ounce. Heading into the Thursday close, corn and soybeans are a bit firmer, while wheat losses have accelerated. The wheat weakness was not expected with the Black Sea export restrictions. Chicago September wheat is nearing a strong area of support. The forecast ahead for corn and beans maintains a wet trend for the Eastern Corn Belt, while the Plains stay dry. Currently, heavy rain in Missouri has led to some flooding. Rumor is that the Iran-Oman agreement to open the Strait of Hormuz does not involve the U.S.

At midmorning, wheat markets are down hard while corn and soybeans are little changed in quiet trade. There is a dearth of news Thursday, but a cooler and wetter forecast is weighing on corn and soy markets.

USDA: private exporters reported sales of 122,000 mt (4.5 million bushels) of soybeans to China for 2026/2027. Grain and soy markets are little changed in quiet trade early Thursday.
LivestockPosted 11:42 -- October live cattle are down $3.65 at $225.825, September feeder cattle are down $4.83 at $343.55, October lean hogs are down $1.05 at $81.975, December corn is down 3/4 cent per bushel and December soybean meal is up $0.20. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 321.25 points and the NASDAQ is down 29.45 points. Bids are on the table in Kansas, Nebraska and Texas at $235, but no new trade has developed following Wednesday's light business. On Wednesday dressed cattle traded in Nebraska at $370 which is $3.00 higher than last week's weighted average.
Posted 08:33 -- October live cattle are up $0.23 at $229.7, September feeder cattle are up $0.15 at $348.525, October lean hogs are down $0.15 at $82.875, December corn is down 1/2 cent per bushel and December soybean meal is up $1.50. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 145.57 points and the NASDAQ is down 96.14 points. The livestock complex is again off to a mixed start as the cattle contracts continue to scale higher while the hog contracts are trading lower. More cash cattle trade should develop throughout the day following Wednesday's light movement.
