Periodic Updates on the Grains, Livestock Futures Markets
OMAHA (DTN) -- December corn is up 7 3/4 cents per bushel, November soybeans are up 6 1/4 cents, September KC wheat is up 11 3/4 cents, September Chicago wheat is up 13 1/4 cents and September MIAX wheat is up 8 3/4 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 568.84 points. The U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.080 and September crude oil is down $4.60 per barrel. December gold is down $15.40 per ounce. Heading into the Monday close, corn, wheat and bean oil have extended gains. The strength is despite the sharply lower crude oil trade. News that China is buying more soybeans along with rumors that they are asking for offers on corn and soft wheat has given the market a bounce.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 554.43 points. The U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.050 and September crude oil is down $4.80 per barrel. December gold is down $18.50 per ounce. At midmorning, corn and wheat have reversed early weakness to trade higher, while the soy complex is quiet and mixed. Crude oil is still down hard and equities higher. Expectations are that we could see crop ratings slide again this afternoon.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 633.14 points. The U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.180 and September crude oil is down $5.68 per barrel. December gold is down $19.20 per ounce. USDA: Private exporters reported the following sales activities: 488,000 mt (17.9 mb) of soybeans to China for 2026/2027 and 136,150 mt (5 mb) of soybeans to unknown destinations for 2026/2027. Grain and soy markets are mostly weaker on weekend rain and the prospect for more in addition to reports that peace talks will once again start between Iran and the U.S.

September KC wheat is down 4 cents, September Chicago wheat is down 3 3/4 cents, and September MIAX Minneapolis wheat is down 1 3/4 cents. September crude oil is down $3.86 and Dow Jones futures are up 150 points. The U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.16 and December gold is up $25.90. After a bearish week to close the month of July, row crop futures are off to a sluggish start for August on Sunday evening. Rainfall totals over the weekend were decent for the heart of the U.S. Grain Belt, though the far west and east of the regions had areas miss out. Next week's forecast continues to mostly favor the central to eastern belt, with cooler temperatures which may keep weather bullishness subdued. Outside energy is again a source of weakness, with crude oil futures steadily lower to open the new week, with the U.S. again canceling attacks against Iran in hopes of negotiations. Last week's brief pause in fighting proved short-lived, so this will of course be monitored by the market with interest.
LivestockPosted 11:45 -- October live cattle are up $0.28 at $227.525, September feeder cattle are down $0.15 at $343.625, October lean hogs are down $1.43 at $83.425, December corn is up 5 3/4 cents per bushel and December soybean meal is up $1.00. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 502.55 points and the NASDAQ is up 506.89 points. Packers must be short bought headed into the new week because bids of $233 have already surfaced in Kansas. New showlists are mixed this week as showlists are lighter in Texas and Kansas, but larger in Nebraska and Colorado.
Posted 08:33 -- October live cattle are up $0.38 at $227.625, September feeder cattle are up $1.23 at $345., October lean hogs are down $0.53 at $84.325, December corn is down 2 1/2 cents per bushel and December soybean meal is down $2.20. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 642.53 points and the NASDAQ is up 56.72 points. The livestock complex is again off to a mixed start as the cattle contracts are hopeful that traders will continue to boldly support their contracts, but the lean hog complex is trading lower amid softer consumer demand. The cash cattle market is quiet at Monday's start with currently no bids or asking prices being noted.
