Periodic Updates on the Grains, Livestock Futures Markets
OMAHA (DTN) -- Posted 10:33 -- March corn is up 6 3/4 cents per bushel, January soybeans are up 6 cents, March KC wheat is up 5 1/4 cents, March Chicago wheat is up 3 3/4 cents and MIAX March Minneapolis wheat is up 0.0450 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 363.31 points. The U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.090 and January crude oil is up $0.03 per barrel. December gold is up $20.40 per ounce. At midmorning, corn, wheat, soybeans and soy products are all higher in low volume pre-holiday trade. In another reading of solid corn demand, EIA's weekly petroleum report had ethanol production rising more than 2% from last week to 1.113 million barrels per day. March corn continues to trade above the 50-day average and an uptrend line from August.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 145.72 points. The U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.200 and January crude oil is down $0.13 per barrel. December gold is up $8.20 per ounce. Corn is slightly higher, beans lower, while wheat is mixed to mostly lower. Despite news reports indicating China may have bought close to 1 mmt of soybeans Tuesday, there was no confirmation of such early Wednesday.
LivestockPosted 08:36 -- February live cattle are up $2.40 at $209.725, January feeder cattle are up $3.50 at $310.575, February lean hogs are up $0.33 at $79.325, March corn is up 1 3/4 cents per bushel and January soybean meal is down $0.80. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 128.41 points and NASDAQ is up 141.81 points. The cash cattle market is quiet at Wednesday's start although bids have been renewed at $215 in Kansas, more trade will likely develop throughout the day as packers won't likely want to jump back into the market on Friday. So far this week, Southern live cattle have traded at $215 ($7.00 to $9.00 lower) and Northern dressed cattle have traded at $330 ($15.00 lower).
