MINNEAPOLIS (DTN) -- The DTN spot price for domestic distillers dried grains (DDG) from 33 locations reporting for the week ended June 5 was down $2 on average versus one week ago at $151 per ton.

DDG prices were mixed for the week, but down $2 on average with the cash corn and meal prices under pressure for the week. A trader noted spot demand has been limited and given plant production increased again, supplies may become burdensome if demand stays flat. DTN's National Average Corn Index is down 7 cents versus one week ago.

Based on the average of prices collected by DTN, the value of DDG relative to corn for the week ended June 5 was 0.962%. The value of DDG relative to soybean meal was 50.82% and the cost per unit of protein for DDG was $5.59 compared to the cost per unit of protein for soybean meal at $6.25.

U.S. Grains Council, in its weekly distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) June export market prices report, showed as of June 5, CIF NOLA barge price was up $3 at $213 metric ton (mt); FOB vessel Gulf price was steady at $236 mt; rail delivered PNW was up $2 at $247; and rail delivered to California was down $2 at $240 mt. The impact of tariffs will continue to affect DDGS export sales, especially if nothing changes after the 90-day reprieve.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported Wednesday that for the week ended May 30, overall ethanol production in the United States averaged 1.105 million barrels per day (bpd), up 49,000 bpd week-on-week and 33,000 bpd, or 3%, higher than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 1.048 million bpd was 8,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year. Midwest ethanol production averaged 1.047 million bpd, up 48,000 bpd week-on-week and 35,000 bpd, or 3.3%, higher than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 990,000 bpd was 6,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year.

USDA used Census Bureau data released this week to provide more details for exports of DDGS. U.S. exports of DDGS totaled 894,197 mt in April, down from 1,027,002 mt in March, and down 8% from April 2024. DDGS exports are running 8.5% behind 2024 through the first four months of 2025 thus far. Mexico was the top destination in April, taking 21% of U.S. exports and was followed by South Korea and Vietnam.
