Periodic Updates on the Grains, Livestock Futures Markets
OMAHA (DTN) -- The June DJIA futures are up 204 points early Thursday. The June U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.0980 at 100.775, June gold is up $34.20 per ounce at $3,222.50 and June crude oil is down $1.42 per barrel at $61.73. As we head to the Thursday close, bean oil remains locked limit down with soybean futures also down hard. Corn is mixed with July firm on solid export sales. Wheat is high again with KC and Chicago up for the third straight day.

The June U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.0980 at 100.775, June gold is up $28.20 per ounce at $3,216.50 and June crude oil is down $1.78 per barrel at $61.37. At midmorning, soybean oil is still locked down the daily limit, while soybeans are extending losses and new-crop corn futures are fading. Wheat is mixed with only Chicago still in the green.

The June U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.2280 at 100.645, June gold is up $5.70 per ounce at $3,194.00 and June crude oil is down $1.59 per barrel at $61.56. Soybeans and bean oil are under heavy pressure early while wheat and corn are firmer with wheat markets up for the third straight day on a correction of oversold conditions. Reports that Iran may be willing to give up nuclear ability in return for a lifting of sanctions is pressuring crude and hence bean oil.
LivestockPosted 11:36 -- June live cattle are down $1.53 at $212.425, August feeder cattle are down $4.28 at $297.7, June lean hogs are up $1.10 at $99.95, July corn is up 1 1/2 cents per bushel and July soybean meal is up $2.30. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 123.47 points and NASDAQ is down 11.33 points. Some light cash cattle trade has been reported in the South at $218 to $220, which is $1.00 lower to $1.00 higher than last week's weighted average, and Northern dressed cattle are currently trading at $358, which is $2.00 higher than last week's weighted average. Asking prices remain firm at $222 to $225 in the South.
Posted 08:34 -- June live cattle are down $2.05 at $211.9, August feeder cattle are down $3.38 at $298.6, June lean hogs are down $0.43 at $98.425, July corn is up 4 cents per bushel and July soybean meal is up $5.20. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 172.71 points and NASDAQ is down 111.54 points. Beef net sales of 14,600 mt for 2025 were up 91% from the previous week and 21% from the prior 4-week average. The three primary buyers were South Korea (4,500 mt), Japan (3,400 mt) and Mexico (2,600 mt). Pork net sales of 24,600 mt for 2025 were up 2% from the previous week and 16% from the prior 4-week average. The three primary buyers were Mexico (10,600 mt), Japan (3,500 mt) and Canada (2,800 mt).
