Beefed-Up Hay Ring (Ray E. Watkins Jr.)

Vicky Watson, Prospect, Tennessee, was battling a bull with a habit of tearing up hay rings. She went heavy. Watson purchased a concrete "H trough" from a local supplier (about 3,800 pounds). She then used farm scrap, including a scrapped hay ring, to build a feeder mounted on top of it. For $250, Watson drastically reduced damage to the hay feeders and cut hay losses.
