Grains

OMAHA (DTN) -- December corn is down 4 3/4 cents per bushel, November soybeans are down 5 3/4 cents, December KC wheat is down 6 1/2 cents, December Chicago wheat is down 7 cents and December Minneapolis wheat is down 7 1/2 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 45 points, and October crude oil is down $0.73 per barrel. The U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.220, and December gold is up $0.10 per ounce. Grain and soybeans start off down a bit ahead of the all-important September WASDE report on Monday. The week ahead looks to be very volatile, with the report, followed by the Labor Department report on inflation on Tuesday, and talk of a possible railroad strike as union talks broke down. There was some rain over the weekend, but the West and Plains remain dry.
