CASE IH UPDATES TRACTORS

Case IH has made revisions and updates to three of its European tractor lines. Here are details:

-- The six-cylinder Maxxum 150 at the top of the model range -- all other models are four-cylinder tractors -- has gained five horsepower in unboosted rated power to produce 150 hp, meaning it moves 5 hp ahead in power when compared to the next model in the line, the four-cylinder Maxxum 145.

These Maxxums have a redesigned cab entrance with Magnum-style steps. Operators will find several changes inside, including a phone mount, USB power ports and a tablet mount. A new wiper arrangement covers 60% more of the screen.

-- The four-model line of Case IH Farmall C tractors, Case's 90-to-117-hp models targeted at professional small and mid-size livestock and mixed farmers, has a new engine for 2022, meeting Stage V emissions regulations.

The new four-cylinder engine has a greater cubic capacity, with a displacement of 3.6 liters, compared to the 3.4 liters of its predecessor. This engine also features four valves per cylinder versus two on the former engine, for enhanced combustion and a common rail fuel injection system for reduced fuel consumption and improved power delivery. This brings performance benefits to include increased power output and higher torque levels.

-- Case IH Puma 140-175 tractors bring operators Magnum-style steps for easier access, while in-cab upgrades include phone mount, USB power ports and a tablet mount. Interior materials have been upgraded with automotive-type cab trim, and a new premium leather steering wheel. There is also a new cool-box available for refreshments.

For loader users a new advanced joystick, with integral forward/reverse shuttle and gear-changing features, are added to improve cycle times.

These updated models are available from Spring 2022.

BOBCAT ANNOUNCES PAIR OF TOOLCATS

Bobcat Company has launched two new Toolcat utility work machines: the UW53 and UW56. With more than 45 attachments, operators can turn these machines into multi-purpose hauling, lifting, mowing, towing and loading machines.

These new models have totally redesigned LED lighting. Embedded road lights are integrated within the front fenders for better visibility in all directions. The rear work lights have been changed to LED.

A new optional rear-view camera gives operators visibility for tasks that require regular machine maneuvering. The rear-frame location of the camera provides an unobstructed view for connecting a ball hitch (UW56 model only).

HONDA'S SECOND GEN AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE: FUTURE ROLE ON THE FARM?

Honda and Black & Veatch, a global engineering and construction company, have successfully tested the prototype Honda Autonomous Work Vehicle (AWV) at a Black & Veatch construction site in New Mexico.

During the month-long field test, the second-generation prototype of the fully electric Honda AWV performed a range of functions at a large-scale solar energy construction project, including towing activities and transporting construction materials, water, and other supplies to pre-set destinations within the work site.
