OMAHA (DTN) -- Forecast suggestions of rain for Argentina in the two-week time frame and more rain for central Brazil are the primary weather features for the commodity market's attention Thursday.

MINIMAL MIDWEST MOISTURE

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for mostly dry conditions in the Midwest through the end of the week. Forecast models are unsure of how a storm system will come together this weekend; latest indications are for only light precipitation. A similar light precipitation total is indicated for another potential system early next week.

MAINLY DRY IN SOUTHERN PLAINS

In the Southern Plains, snow in western areas Thursday morning will produce light precipitation. The pattern turns drier through the balance of the seven-day period. Forecast models suggest very little precipitation in store. Drought remains prominent, especially in the northern and western sectors.

VARIABLE NORTHERN PLAINS TEMPERATURES

The Northern Plains region has continued above-normal temperatures in the forecast through the end of the week. Cooler air moves through over the weekend, but temperatures are expected to rise back above normal next week. Dryness and drought continue in the region as we head toward spring.

SLIGHT EASING OF CENTRAL BRAZIL RAIN

Central and northern Brazil crop areas continue with a rainy pattern. However, the shower pattern shows a bit of easing which may allow soybean harvest and second-crop corn planting.

ARGENTINA RAINFALL FORECAST SUGGESTION

Central Argentina crop areas remain dry with very warm-to-hot conditions for the next week leading to a concern for filling corn and soybeans. Forecast models suggest an improved chance for precipitation in the 14- to 16-day time frame. This chance will be closely watched.
