Progressive Agriculture Safety Days®

Spring into SAFETY this season with Progressive Agriculture Safety Days®.

Spring planting means more farm vehicles will be sharing the roadways with other vehicles; therefore, be mindful as you transport equipment on public roadways. Do your best to be visible and warn the public that you are moving more slowly than they are by using warning systems such as flashing lights, extremity markings and slow-moving vehicle (SMV) emblems. SMV emblems should be visible, clean from dirt and debris, and on all tractors and machinery that cannot maintain speeds above 25 mph.

From learning about proper use of hand tools to identifying safety around underground utilities, Progressive Agriculture Safety Days® participants gain an understanding of the importance of using safety in day-to-day practices around the farm or ranch, or at home.

Progressive Agriculture Foundation Recognizes Bayer as a 4-star Sponsor:

The Progressive Agriculture Foundation is pleased to have Bayer’s continued support of youth safety through a donation to Progressive Agriculture Safety Days®. 2019 marks Bayer’s 17th year of partnership with the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day® program.

Bayer is a global enterprise with core competencies in the life science fields of health care and agriculture. Its products and services are designed to benefit people and improve their quality of life. At the same time, the group aims to create value through innovation, growth and high earning power. Bayer is committed to the principles of sustainable development and to its social and ethical responsibilities as a corporate citizen. In fiscal 2017, the Group employed around 99,800 people and had sales of 35 billion euros. Capital expenditures amounted to 2.4 billion euros, research and development expenses to 4.5 billion euros.

“Bayer’s support will allow more than 4,600 children to participate in a Progressive Agriculture Safety Day® in their local community, where they will learn age-appropriate, life-saving lessons in a hands-on, fun manner that they will remember long after the Safety Day concludes,” says Brian Kuhl, chief executive officer of the Progressive Agriculture Foundation.

Bayer is also providing farm-safety resources through a First Aid app. The app, created by the American Red Cross, puts expert advice for everyday emergencies at your fingertips. Bayer proudly sponsors the rural safety section focusing on topics specific to rural and farming communities including ATV safety, dust explosions, auger safety, tractor safety and grain bin safety, to name a few. The app is FREE and available for download from both the Apple App Store or Google Play for Android devices. Get the app by texting “GETFIRST” to 90999.
