Market Impact Weather
Wet and Cool Midwest
OMAHA (DTN) -- A cool and wet Midwest and Delta pattern, and continued dryness in central Argentina, are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Monday.
COOL AND RAINY MIDWEST
The DTN ag weather forecast call for a very cool and wet pattern for the Midwest during the next week. This pattern will disrupt spring fieldwork and early corn planting.
CONTINUED ARGENTINA DRYNESS
In central Argentina, weekend rain was minimal. There is no significant rain expected in the coming week, either. Declines in both corn and soybean production continue due to drought.

MORE RAIN IN BRAZIL
Across Brazil, there is no end indicated to the rainy season. Soil moisture is favorable for second-crop (safrinha) corn. However, late-stage harvest and transportation issues are noted because of wet conditions. Farther south, heavy weekend rains in Rio Grande do Sul will disrupt the soybean harvest. Southern Brazil has more wet weather forecast later this week.
DELTA STAYS WET
The Delta forecast remains wet with heavy rain and flood threats this week. Saturated soils along with the wet pattern will delay corn planting.
MAINLY DRY AGAIN IN SOUTHERN PLAINS
There is again no significant precipitation expected in the Southern Plains during the next 10 days. Winter wheat crop ratings are already poor in many areas.
SNOW FOR NORTHERN PLAINS
In the Northern Plains, North Dakota is expected to see snow with melted precipitation of 0.25 to 0.50 inch centered on Friday. The crop area will benefit from the added moisture but the snow will lead to transport delays and will be unfavorable for livestock.
