Heavy Western Midwest Rain Forecast
OMAHA (DTN) -- Prospects for heavy rain in the western Midwest and developing showers in Brazil are the key weather items for the commodity trade's attention Friday.
RAINY WESTERN MIDWEST FORECAST
The DTN ag weather forecast calls for moderate to heavy rain in the western Midwest during most of next week. This stretch of rainy conditions will disrupt harvest. Meanwhile, eastern Midwest areas continue with a favorable dry pattern for harvest. There are no freeze threats in the forecast.
BENEFICIAL SOUTHERN PLAINS MOISTURE
In the Southern Plains, rain during the past week is beneficial to winter wheat planting and development. A more variable rain pattern is in store through the next week. The overall upcoming trend will be favorable for planting.

DRY AGAIN IN DELTA
The Delta and Southeast have mostly dry and mild conditions for ripening crops and harvest through next week.
COLDER AND WETTER FOR NORTHERN PLAINS
Cooler and rainy conditions are in store for the Northern Plains during the next week. Precipitation will disrupt row-crop harvest, but will offer easing of drought. Freezing temperatures are also indicated in western portions of the region. This occurrence is typical for this point in the season.
HEAVIER RAIN FOR CENTRAL BRAZIL
A solid pattern of moderate to locally heavy rain is indicated in southern and south-central Brazil Friday. The forecast continues to move this shower area northward into central Brazil during the next five to seven days, with moderate to heavy amounts and favorable soil moisture for planting soybeans.
EASTERN AUSTRALIA RAIN CHANCE
The eastern Australia forecast again features a good prospect for significant shower and thunderstorm activity during the weekend through Monday. The chance appears to be highest in southeast Queensland, but may also include key growing areas of northern New South Wales. If verified, it may offer benefit to late-filling winter wheat.
