OMAHA (DTN) -- Warm, mostly dry days in the central U.S. and Canadian crop areas is a DTN weather item for the consideration of Friday's commodity markets.

CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN PLAINS RETAINING ADEQUATE MOISTURE

There is mostly favorable soil moisture for the crop in the Southern Plains when it breaks dormancy in the spring due to heavy rains in early January. This will help mitigate the impact of dry weather this past fall and some very cold weather earlier in the winter. Additional beneficial rains have occurred through southern areas early this week with more possible this weekend.

MILD CONDITIONS IN MIDWEST

P[L1] D[0x0] M[300x250] OOP[F] ADUNIT[] T[]

Mostly dry Friday in the western Midwest through Sunday. Temperatures average well above normal.

Scattered light to locally moderate showers, favoring eastern areas, during Monday. Mostly dry Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures average well above normal.

The eastern Midwest will be mostly dry today. Dry or with only a little light rain or drizzle near the Ohio River during Saturday. Mostly dry Sunday. Temperatures average well above normal.

Mostly dry during the daytime hours of Monday. Chance for a few light showers favoring western areas of the eastern Midwest Monday night, eastern and southern locations during Tuesday. Mostly dry Wednesday. Temperatures average well above normal.

FAVORABLE CONDITIONS IN EUROPE FOR WINTER OILSEEDS AND GRAIN

Mostly favorable conditions for winter grains and oilseeds from England and France to Germany. Earlier dryness is of some concern. Early winter cold may mean above-average winterkill for crops in Eastern Europe, but this will not likely be known until the spring.
