For nearly 30 years, there has been a strong connection between the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day(R) (PAF Safety Day) program and the Cooperative Extension System (CES) throughout the United States. Nearly 50% of all PAF Safety Day coordinators slated to implement the program in their local communities and schools in 2022 are directly connected to Cooperative Extension, with many being involved with their 4-H youth development program.

The PAF Safety Day program's peer-reviewed curriculum, paired with its age-appropriate, hands-on educational activities, have provided Extension staff with an additional avenue to promote positive youth development experiences with an emphasis on safety and health. Many of the program's potentially life-saving lessons directly align with projects being completed by youth enrolled in 4-H. And, for those youth who may not be involved in 4-H, the PAF Safety Day program may serve as their first introduction to Cooperative Extension and 4-H through the PAF Safety Day coordinators and hundreds of volunteers delivering the program.

In March, staff members of the Progressive Agriculture Foundation participated in the National 4-H Youth Summit on Agri-Science, held in Bethesda, Maryland, through a collaboration with Nutrien, a 5-star partner of the PAF Safety Day program. At the Summit, 4-H youth got to experience a glimpse of the PAF Safety Day program firsthand and see how they can incorporate the program into 4-H back in their local communities.
