Old School Italian Shop Salad
This salad will make you feel at home in Italy.
Old School Italian Chop Salad
Serves: 4–6
Prep Time: 15 minutes
DRESSING:
1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
SALAD:
1 large head romaine lettuce, chopped
8 ounces fresh mozzarella, drained from liquid and torn into pieces
1 large roasted bell pepper, chopped
1/2 cup chopped, pitted Kalamata olives
1/2 cup chopped Italian salami
1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
1 handful fresh, torn basil leaves
Pepperoncini peppers
1. To make dressing, whisk together all ingredients in a large bowl until well emulsified.
2. To make salad, add lettuce, mozzarella, bell pepper, Kalamata olives, salami, red onion, basil and peppers to dressing; toss to coat.
