Don Hewitt, Beloit, Kansas, found it difficult to drive electric fieldposts into his hard soils. He designed a driver to solve the problem starting with a 35-inch section of light-duty (1.25-inch) angle iron. He welded a steel cap and handle on one end, and a footstep on the other end. Hewitt uses his body weight to push the posts into the ground.
