Jacob Sanders, Crown City, Ohio, used 30-inch culverts to build self-feeders. To do that, he cut 21-foot culverts, each into three 7-foot pieces. From one end, he removed a 5-inch section of the culvert to allow feed to flow out. Standing them on end on a concrete slab, he used pieces of 2 x 4s to attach each feeder to the barn's support posts. Concrete slabs hold the culverts in place on the bottom. These culvert sections each hold 1,500 pounds of feed.
