Cheesy Garlic Bread

Cheesy Garlic Bread (Rachel Johnson)

This crusty bread is ideal for soaking up any remaining sauce on your dinner plate or to accompany your favorite soup.

TOTAL TIME: 20 Minutes

MAKES: 4-6 servings

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature

4 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

1 large loaf Italian bread or baguette, cut in half lengthwise

1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)

PREPARATION AND COOKING:

1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.

2. In a bowl, combine butter and cream cheese; add mozzarella, garlic powder, oregano and salt; mix well.

3. Spread butter mixture onto bread; transfer to baking sheet.

4. Bake bread 10 to 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and bread is toasted.

5. Cut bread into pieces; garnish with parsley.
