December 2022 Handy Devices: Labor-Saving Chute

Labor-Saving Chute (Ray E. Watkins Jr.)

Gary Kriley, Esbon, Kansas, had trouble setting posts in his feedlot. He couldn't get the cement mixer close enough to fill the holes. To fix that, he fashioned one-third of a 30-gallon barrel as a chute. He welded a couple of hooks to the top of the chute that attach to a bar under the mixer. This Handy Device saved Kriley's back from the hours of work he would have otherwise spent pouring buckets of cement into the holes.
