Safety Tip of the Month February 2022

(Steve Thompson)

If you are loading and stacking round or large square bales of hay, and if your loader tractor has a detent on one of the hydraulic remote outlets, be sure and use that set of remotes for the tilt of the fork, not the boom. This way, if you get distracted (like looking for another bale), the loader will not raise on its own and dump the bale on you or the hood of a tractor. This is a common accident, especially if your forks go under the bale and roll it on the bale carrier.
