Several pieces of equipment and ancillary products caught our attention during the 54th National Farm Machinery Show, in Louisville, Kentucky.

New Holland Announces GENESIS T8 With Precision Management:

New Holland Agriculture has rolled out its new GENESIS T8 Series tractor with Precision Land Management (PLM). PLM is New Holland’s precision-farming platform, a system developed in-house by New Holland engineers. “The GENESIS T8 with PLM Intelligence has been carefully engineered to meet the needs of our customers. We’ve created a tractor that’s literally built for the way [our customers] work,” says Ken Paul, product marketing manager for New Holland, North America.

The new, nearly all-glass cab offers maximum visibility. The cab interior features more storage, an increased number of power ports, vents, egress lights and an ergonomic seat.

Central to the cab is the space-age design SideWinder Ultra armrest with IntelliView 12 system. The armrest and monitor give the operator customizable control of the tractor’s mechanical functions and intuitive access to the T8’s information systems.

New Holland has incorporated external cameras into the GENESIS T8 that make it easy to navigate in and out of traffic, and keep an eye on infield work.

New 360-degree LED work lights deliver 25% more visible light for work in dim and nighttime conditions.

CASE IH Launches New AFS Soil Command Applications:

Case IH is expanding AFS Soil Command agronomic control technology to its Tiger-Mate 255 field cultivator, single-fold True-Tandem disk harrows and vertical tillage tools, and the Ecolo-Tiger 875 disk ripper. Building on its existing seedbed sensing technology capabilities, AFS Soil Command will now help producers precisely coordinate control of their tillage equipment from the tractor cab. This technology uses reliable Advanced Farming Systems (AFS) components to optimize machine settings as field conditions change.

“AFS Soil Command helps producers overcome the challenges of properly setting their tillage tool to unlock more agronomic potential of their seedbed,” says Chris Lursen, Case IH tillage marketing manager. “[Producers] can use AFS Soil Command to make adjustments from the seat of the tractor, ensuring the entire machine is properly set.”

There are agronomic consequences from misadjusted tillage tools. On an Ecolo-Tiger 875, for example, shank depth and disk depth could become misaligned. This can lead to a less-efficient, uneven finish. With AFS Soil Command, all tillage settings remain optimized when main depth is changed, so producers can be confident that their real-time adjustments are making improvements that will lead to an optimal seedbed, Lursen says.

Unverferth Develops One-Pass Cover-Crop Seeding System:

Cover-crop enthusiasts now have one-pass seeding, tillage and incorporation with the new Cover Crop Seeding option for the Rolling Harrow from Unverferth Manufacturing.

The seeder uses an air delivery system designed for high speed and accurate application. Tapered seed deflectors ensure even distribution. Hydraulic drive metering along with a roller-style, chevron meter design helps to create continuous seed flow at various seeding rates for most any cover crop. The Rolling Harrow provides good seed-to-soil contact for uniform emergence.

Slide gates provide manual shutoff of individual row units, and seed meters remove for easy cleanout. Unit-mounted indicator lights quickly monitor fan pressure, seed level and seed meter function. The hopper holds 32.5 bushels.

The cover-crop seeder can be used alone or in combination with the lead tillage tool. It’s available with the new Rolling Harrow 1245 and 1245D models from 12 to 37 feet, and can also mount to most previous models in that size range.

The seeder will be available in fall 2019.

JCB’s Articulated Handler Works Smarter

Everyone wants to “work smarter,” and JCB delivers this with its new TM420 articulated telescopic handler. Designed with agriculture in mind, it features the Tier 4 Final-compliant 4.8L JCB EcoMAX engine with variable geometry turbo and the JCB 6-speed Powershift with TorqueLock.

It produces 145 hp and high, low-rev torque for reduced fuel consumption. The hydraulic system uses JCB’s unique regenerative hydraulics to improve cycle times and enhance fuel efficiency. The TM420 has a maximum lift of 17 feet 8 inches and 10 feet of forward reach, with a maximum lift capacity of 8,550 pounds.

The cab features the new JCB HVAC system for comfort. Boom end damping on boom lift and extend/retract and bucket dump functions help reduce shock to the operator and the machine itself.

Backlit switches ensure quick and accurate control recognition, even in the dark.

RhinoAg Brings New Rotary Cutters To The Market:

RhinoAg has added a new series of multispindle rotary cutters, the TR Series. TRs were created to withstand more demanding jobs with new suspension and driveline designs.

“We’re proud to add the TR Series to our lineup of cutters,” says Greg Pollock, sales and marketing director for RhinoAg. “These units offer superior cut quality, easier maintenance and longer life expectancy.”

Rollin’ Out The Tires and tracks:

> Titan International has expanded its premier tire line for compact tractors--the Goodyear R14T. The crossover tire--a combined hybrid of farm, turf and solid surface tread styles--is available in 14 new sizes to allow for compact tractors up to 150 hp.

“We launched the first-of-its-kind R14T last year and have seen great success,” says Scott Sloan, ag product manager/global LSW for Titan. “Based on overwhelming demand from original equipment manufacturers and end users, we expanded this line to 18 total sizes, making this our premier tire line for nearly any subcompact tractor or loader, as well as any compact or utility tractor on the market.”

> Camso has unveiled its CTS High Speed conversion track system, newly available for Case IH combines for North America. Previously, the system was offered only for John Deere S Series combines. Now, it is available for Case IH 7, 8 and 9 combines.

The new CTS High Speed features an integrated final drive to achieve up to 23 mph for speed similar to a wheeled combine. CTS High Speed comes with 36-inch-wide, high-traction tracks.

Kubota Has New M7 Offering:

Kubota Tractor Corp.’s new Kubota M7 Gen 2 tractor is coming to market in three models--the M7-132, M7-152 and the M7-172, ranging from 100 to 140 PTO horsepower. The M7 Gen 2s are available for purchase beginning this month.

“Kubota’s M7 Series is our largest tractor line, and while we didn’t make the new M7 Gen 2 bigger, we absolutely made it better,” says Martin Carrier, Kubota ag equipment product marketing director.

The new series includes a closed-center load-sensing hydraulic system built with the simplicity of mechanical operation controls.

The M7 Gen 2 features a 30-speed semipowershift transmission. The number of main gears has increased from four to six. An auto-shifting function evaluates range gear then automatically adjusts engine output to improve acceleration performance under light loads.

M7 Gen 2 tractors are equipped with a Kubota LM2605 front loader. The loader features a Kubota Z-Bar linkage for mechanical self-leveling and a single-lever hydraulic valve quick coupler for easy attachment and detachment. The LM2605 front loader boasts a max height of 167 inches at pivot pin and a lifting capacity of 5,776 pounds at max pin height.

Thunder Creek Ups Its Fuel-Hauling Line:

Iowa’s Thunder Creek Equipment manufacturer has upgraded its Fuel and Service Trailers (FST) with a series of improvements. The FST platform now includes a reengineered tank design that increases short- and long-term durability. The FST class trailers also boast a redesigned front end that reduces dust and debris inside the trailer’s main chassis.

Other upgrades include the use of thicker-gauge steel on FST doors, new heavy-duty latches, new Spin-Secure Fuel Caps, new fuel meter and filter options, increased strength of the entire front box compartment and upgraded, heavy-duty 35- and 50-foot fuel hose reels.

Thunder Creek’s FST models haul 500, 750 or 990 gallons of diesel and 100 gallons of DEF.
