Greeneye, Boeck Sign Sprayer Deal
Greeneye Partners With Nebraska's Boeck Seed Services to Sell, Install Retrofit Precision Sprayer System
CHELSEA, Ala. (DTN) -- Greeneye Technology is announcing its first dedicated sales agreement with Nebraska-based Boeck Seed Services to sell and service Greeneye's retrofit precision application system to owners of existing sprayers.
Boeck, located near Exeter, Nebraska, is the first of a planned nationwide network of dealerships to support Greeneye's U.S. expansion plans. Greeneye is based in Tel Aviv, Israel.
"Throughout our journey, we have been clear that for our business to be truly scalable, we need to establish strong links with local dealers," said Nadav Bocher, CEO of Greeneye Technology. "These are the people that farmers know and trust, and with their expertise and in-depth local knowledge, we believe they are the people best placed to provide excellent service and support to Greeneye customers. We look forward to announcing more partnerships soon."
"Greeneye's retrofit system will change the game, enabling farmers to significantly reduce chemical use, and costs, without impacting the efficacy of their weed control strategies or reducing productivity, all while continuing to use their existing sprayer," said Cody Boeck, operations director at Boeck Seed Services, in a Greeneye news release.
Boeck Seeds has begun selling Greeneye systems for the 2025 season. This September, it will open a dedicated facility at its existing site where it will retrofit customers' sprayers with Greeneye's hardware and software for delivery next spring.
During the retrofit process, the sprayer's existing boom is replaced with Greeneye's proprietary 120-foot aluminum boom. The boom is supplied pre-installed with the components of Greeneye's precision spraying system: 24 high-resolution cameras, 12 GPUs of graphics processing units and 144 independently controlled spray nozzles spaced at 10-inch intervals. Seventy-two high-intensity lights allow spraying to be carried out day and night. The booms have been newly engineered specifically for Greeneye hardware and will speed installation of its spraying application onto existing sprayers.
In addition, the sprayer's single line tank system is upgraded to Greeneye's dual line tank configuration, allowing farmers to simultaneously apply residual herbicides on a broadcast basis while spot spraying non-residual herbicides.
Once the retrofit process is complete, Boeck will deliver the sprayer to the customer, provide in-field training and ongoing operation and maintenance support.
"The benefits the system offers -- a significant reduction in chemical use, and costs, and improved efficacy, all with no subscription fees -- are very tangible," said Jerry Boeck, CEO at Boeck Seed Services, in the Greeneye release.
In University of Nebraska field trials, Greeneye's precision spraying system produced a 94% reduction in burndown herbicide use during pre-emergence spraying compared to broadcast applications and an 87% reduction in non-residual herbicide use during post-emergence spraying compared to broadcast application.
Greeneye says it has put "dozens" of its two-tank systems into the field this year. Its precision spraying system treats corn and soybean, and beginning this year, cotton. Greeneye also is developing smart application technologies for micronutrients and fungicides.
