Crop progress reports: I would like to comment on reports in general. The crop reporting is OK to give us some idea of what is happening but, I think the board of trade has too much information at their disposal for too long a time during the year. I believe the USDA should stop reporting crop progress once harvest has begun. Most years that has already started by late August so I propose no more crop progress reports after September 1. Once harvest has started 100% of the crop is no longer standing therefore crop progress is done and should not be further reported that year.
